Welder training and assessment for GE and VINALIFT Company

In October and November, at the GE Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Plant (USA), Nomura Industrial Park (Hai Phong), two PHATECO welding instructors, Nguyen Duc Tiep and Nguyen Van Nghe, implemented a project to train welders using the GTAW welding method, 3G welding position, AWS D1.6: 2007 standard and the GMAW welding method, 2F welding position, AWS D9.1 standard. After completing the theoretical and practical training, the welders here will take the exam to obtain certificates.

Also in November, at Vietnam Steel Structure and Lifting Equipment Joint Stock Company (Vinalift), PHATECO implemented a project to evaluate welding processes and welders led by welding engineer Khuong Hung Cuong. Here, PHATECO evaluated 5 welding processes according to AWS D1.1 standards with welding methods GMAW, FCAW, GMAW+SAW, 2G/3G welding positions, and evaluated welders according to the above standards. In addition, PHATECO also combined the above two evaluation tasks with QC training on welding for Vinalift engineers.
