Implementing the Deepsea Metro 1 drilling project

From October 19 to October 24, 2015, Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung – Quality Director, Level III NDT and API Expert, along with two other PHATECO staff, Hoang Cao Thang and Le Ngoc Long, carried out the project of repairing the crane weld of the Deepsea Metro 1 drilling rig for the customer, ODFJELL DRILLING Company. Within 6 working days, the working group completed the repair of the cracked crane weld and tested it by magnetic particle method (MT) after the repair.

The Deepsea Metro 1 is a drilling rig owned by Golden Close Maritime Corp. Ltd, managed by Odfjell. Currently, the Deepsea Metro 1 drilling rig is operated by VietGazprom (NOC) of Vietnam. The ship was built by Hyundai Shipyard (Korea), has DNV registration, and Bermuda nationality. The construction of Deepsea Metro 1 was completed and put into use in 2011. The ship is over 229 m long, 36 m wide, and over 18 m high.
