Completion of Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Project

The Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Project is a petrochemical refinery project being implemented in Nghi Son Economic Zone, Thanh Hoa. The plant’s products include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gasoline, diesel, kerosene/jet fuel… mainly used for the domestic market. This project has a total investment of more than 9 billion USD and has a capacity of 8.4 million tons of crude oil per year in the first phase and can be upgraded to 10 million tons of crude oil per year.

The investor of the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex project is a joint venture company called Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited (NSRP), including: Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (25.1% of capital), Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) (35.1%), Idemitsu Kosan Company (IKC) 35.1% and Mitsui Chemical Company (MCI) 4.7%. The project was started on October 23, 2013.

PHATECO participated in the project as the NDT Contractor for Package No. 1. On March 10, 2017, PHATECO officially completed the NDT work items for the Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Project.

After 29 months of working with a high sense of effort and responsibility, PHATECO completed the project with all important goals set by the general contractor JGCS; meeting the requirements on progress, quality, safety; creating trust and good relationships in the working process with the Investor, General Contractor and Construction Contractors. This is the largest NDT project PHATECO has ever implemented. The success of the project has contributed to affirming the brand and enhancing the reputation of PHATECO.
