Vung Tau VP speeds up offshore projects before the stormy season

    Date Submitted 09/01/2025

From mid-October is the beginning of the rough sea season. During this period, offshore projects will begin to decrease due to some projects being interrupted or delayed. Therefore, in the past time, VPVT – P.KTHH has focused on and urgently completed projects, especially large projects.

First of all, we must mention the FPSO Ruby II project of Customer VOFT. This project was carried out from April to September 2019 with the following items: Measuring the thickness of the hull, structure and load-bearing positions of the hull according to the regulations of ABS periodic inspection No. 6; NDT for key positions of the hull structure, superstructure, turning tower, ship anchoring system…, Visual inspection and UTM of technological pipelines on the superstructure, pressure tanks, ship anchor chain system. The personnel of this project were mobilized in batches depending on each work item. The project was completed on schedule, with quality and safety, meeting the requirements of the Customer.

The second is the slowdown project in May 2019 and shutdown in September 2019 for the FPSO LEWEK EMAS of POVO, including inspection items: Replica, DRT, PEC, ECT, PAUT/MT/DPI, visual inspection & UTM and performing the work of replacing signal cables & flare igniters. The personnel implementing this project are very demanding, with many years of experience in the field of NDT & offshore, with a professional working style and handling of work. In particular, 06 personnel who performed the work of replacing signal cables and burners for the flare tower during the shutdown period were highly appreciated by POVO for their professional capacity as well as safety work and received recognition/certificate of completion of safe work from Chim Sao Rig and an invitation to attend the thank you party of Premier Oil (POVO) after the shutdown ended. PHATECO’s personnel demonstrated their professionalism and experience in high-altitude rope climbing projects, overcoming difficulties caused by harsh weather such as strong winds, sudden thunderstorms… and completed the work safely and met the schedule set by the Customer. Through this project, PHATECO further affirmed its reputation with POVO Customer. In addition, in September, VPVT also continued to implement and complete a number of other projects such as:

    1. Annual inspection of the superstructure of 02 HST/HST platforms – TLJOC: September 19 – October 4, 2019
    2. Inspection of PVD2 platform body, pressure tank, PVD2-PVD platform technological pipeline
    3. Continue to implement phase 2 of the FPSO Armada TGT 1 – VSP UTM project
    4. Inspection of lifting equipment for 05 Hong Ngoc (Ruby) field platforms – PVEP Blk0102
    5. Continue to implement phase 2 – inspection of the superstructure of 05 Hong Ngoc (Ruby) field fixed platforms – PVEP Blk0102
    6. Annual inspection of DDH02 platform and periodic inspection of the platform DDH01/Mooring Buoy – PVEP POC
    7. Fabrication and installation of replacement of DDH02 platform airport net – PVEPPOC
    8. Repair and inspection of DDH01 platform flare tower during the 2019 platform shutdown period – PVEP POC
    9. Completed inspection of the largest platform DGCP/RP3 out of a total of 11 platforms under the PVGas SE 2019 – Luc Nam project

With their tireless efforts, VPVT as well as all officers and employees of the P.KTHH have overcome the busyness and pressure of work to implement and complete projects with the best results, increasingly improving capacity, professionalism and aiming to expand further in the near future.
